{"id":2705,"date":"2019-08-01T15:40:05","date_gmt":"2019-08-01T06:40:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.itaba.com\/?p=2705"},"modified":"2026-02-23T15:41:19","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T06:41:19","slug":"20190801","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.itaba.com\/en\/blog\/20190801\/","title":{"rendered":"Kamakura Houkokuji"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has already been more than a month, but one day on a whim, I decided to visit Hokokuji Temple in Kamakura.<\/p>\n<p>When you exit the East Gate of JR Kamakura Station, you\u2019ll find Keikyu Bus stop No. 5 right in front of you.<br \/>\nFrom there, take either the \u201cKanazawa-Hakkei,\u201d \u201cKamakura Reien Seimon-mae Tachiara i,\u201d or \u201cHighland Loop\u201d bus, and get off at the \u201cJomyoji\u201d stop.<\/p>\n<p>From the bus stop, walk back slightly, cross the pedestrian crossing, and it\u2019s about a two-minute walk.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s easy to find, and you\u2019ll arrive in no time.<\/p>\n<p>The moment I stood at the entrance, I felt, \u201cI\u2019m so glad I came.\u201d It\u2019s a wonderful place enveloped in a quiet, dignified atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/201906_kamakura_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/201906_kamakura_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/201906_kamakura_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/201906_kamakura_04.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>For reference, the bus fare was 200 yen (as of June, Reiwa 1 \/ 2019).<br \/>\nIf you don\u2019t usually take the bus, I recommend preparing exact change in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Not knowing how the system worked, I simply put a 500-yen coin straight into the fare box\u2026<br \/>\nApparently, I should have exchanged the money first before paying the fare.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, I received a 300-yen bus ticket from the driver as \u201cchange.\u201d Since this doesn\u2019t seem to happen very often, an awkward silence filled the bus for a moment.<\/p>\n<p>With the number of overseas tourists increasing\u2014and people like me who can be a bit absent-minded\u2014I couldn\u2019t help but think it might be time to introduce a system that automatically returns change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has already been more than a month, but one day on a whim, I decided to visit Hokokuji Temple in Kamakura.
