{"id":3082,"date":"2021-11-06T18:06:21","date_gmt":"2021-11-06T09:06:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.itaba.com\/?p=3082"},"modified":"2026-03-26T18:16:44","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T09:16:44","slug":"20211106","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.itaba.com\/en\/blog\/20211106\/","title":{"rendered":"Morning \u201cWaterfall Clouds\u201d Flowing Through \u679d\u6298\u5ce0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"871\" data-end=\"978\">On November 6, I made my way to <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">\u679d\u6298\u5ce0<\/span><\/span> in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"1203\">This was my fourth visit this year, but with the road closing for winter starting on November 9, it was likely my last chance of the season.<br data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1123\" \/>\u201cI want to see this view one more time\u201d\u2014that feeling was what brought me back.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1510\">On weekends, many visitors arrive the night before and sleep in their cars, so the parking lot fills up quickly.<br data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1320\" \/>It\u2019s not uncommon for even the roadside to be completely packed.<br data-start=\"1384\" data-end=\"1387\" \/>Because of this, I always drive up early in the morning with a bit of tension, wondering, \u201cWill I be able to park today?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1512\" data-end=\"1679\">That day was no exception\u2014the parking lot was already full.<br data-start=\"1571\" data-end=\"1574\" \/>Still, I was lucky enough to find a small space along the roadside, and finally felt a sense of relief.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1681\" data-end=\"1692\">And then\u2014<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1694\" data-end=\"2142\">What awaited me beyond that point was a breathtaking scene that left me speechless.<br data-start=\"1777\" data-end=\"1780\" \/>Moisture gathered in the mountain valleys turns into vapor with the arrival of morning, then begins to flow with the wind.<br data-start=\"1902\" data-end=\"1905\" \/>That flow moves over the mountains like a waterfall\u2014this is known as \u201cwaterfall clouds.\u201d<br data-start=\"1993\" data-end=\"1996\" \/>Changing its expression moment by moment, the quiet yet steady movement is something you could watch endlessly without ever getting tired of it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2144\" data-end=\"2219\">\u201cI\u2019m really glad I came back.\u201d<br data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2177\" \/>It truly turned out to be a perfect day.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2221\" data-end=\"2446\">If this even slightly sparks your interest, I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself at least once.<br data-start=\"2327\" data-end=\"2330\" \/>Seeing these clouds in the crisp morning air brings a kind of emotion that photos or videos simply cannot capture.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2448\" data-end=\"2500\">The video below is a time-lapse shot on an iPhone.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fwHjac_xvMY?rel=0&amp;autoplay=1&amp;mute=1&amp;showinfo=0&amp;ampwmode=transparent\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div style=\"height: 6em;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On November 6, I made my way to \u679d\u6298\u5ce0 in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture.
